Are you always seeking external validation? Do you often experience worthlessness? Have you found it difficult to speak up for yourself regarding your choices? Where are you today? That’s a real question for you. These feelings may describe blockages between emotions and connection. Self-Awareness is the dedicated intentional time you spend in self-reflection. Observing your thoughts and feelings and going on the journey to unveil simple or complex emotions, behaviors, or physical sensations. Grow your happiness, health, and wellness by adding to your practice of self healing.
Yoga, Reiki, Meditation, Prayer, Journaling, Affirmations, and Physical workouts are some of the avenues we can apply in a wellness practice to help strengthen the bond of the mind-body connection. The definition of mind-body connection is the action of paying attention to the cues our body is sending us. If you feel the onset of a headache you may ask, “ Did I eat today?” Yes, however it could also be a clue that you're stressed. Maybe you wake up from 8 hours of sleep feeling agitated. I would think that I need firmer pillows to help me sleep better and longer. My body might think otherwise because it could be cues that I am in a state of depression. When we gain clarity and insights on physical manifestations our body displays for emotional problems is when we can begin self healing.
Emotional themes we can name hugely focus on big life changing events such as a new job, a new baby, starting a business, and grieving the loss of a loved one. On a smaller level, but not mundane or unimportant, we can have a hard time pinpointing those residual emotions or numbness and where they stem from. Emotional wheels can help us put our finger on naming what we feel. What do you do when you can name an emotion but not have a regimen to relieve it? Knowing and understanding chakras, even at a beginner or basic level, gives us a tool to start doing self-healing work for ourselves. I created this Are Your Chakras Blocked quiz to help begin the action phase, when we are lost, and a regimen phase to periodically check in with ourselves.
We are given everything we need on Earth to heal. Chakras are 7 energy points in the body related to various nerves and major organs. Chakras can even be categories or stages of enlightenment similar to Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Brene' Brown said, “Numb the dark and you numb the light.” Let’s shine light on where our darkness resides so we can bring light and healing to it. I have created this chakra quiz to give you a starting point. In future blog posts I will cover each chakra more in depth. However, today you can take a 3 minute quiz to name one or two chakras to focus on. Each result will show you some ways this blockage may resonate with you and some actionable steps you can start today to see physical and emotional improvement.
